Girls Volleyball Season Recap 2024

The Ridgeview girls’ volleyball team recently concluded a season that will be remembered for their bounds of improvement. Despite the initial challenge of having a large team with 18 new to the sport, Coach Garcia and Coach Gleason worked tirelessly to build a strong foundation for future years. Coaches focused heavily on the development of fundamental skills including passing, setting, blocking, serving, and making attacks.

The team’s victories against Immanuel Lutheran Schools and Saint John the Evangelist were significant season highlights. However, the success of the season wasn’t just about the wins; it was about the incredible progress the team made throughout the season. They had intense matches again Dayspring Christian Academy and Heritage Christian Academy where they showcased their newfound skills, determination, and ability to play as a team.

One of the most noticeable improvements was the team’s consistency in serving and making sure the ball was touched three times before being sent over the net. The girls also showed remarkable agility, constantly moving their feet and refusing to let the balls hit the floor without a fight.

While the Hoplites did not make it past the second round of the NCIL Silver Division Championship Tournament, their performance was nothing short of inspiring. In the season-ending NCIL Silver Division Tournament, the girls started strong with a 2-0 win over Immanuel Lutheran Schools, pulling out the victory due to their aggressive attacks. In the second round, however, they were matched up against a strong team from Heritage Christian. While their season would come to an end here, their performance was nothing short of inspiring. The 6th graders on the team showed immense potential giving us bright hope for the future of Ridgeview volleyball. The season was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the coaches and players. We couldn’t be prouder of Ridgeview’s most winning season in several years and we can’t wait to see what the team achieves next season.
