Mrs. Burns

Where were you born and where have you lived?

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and lived there most of my life. I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2015. I love the Arizona desert, but I’ve always felt at home in the mountains.

Where did you attend university or college?

I received my Master of Business Administration in Management Degree from Western International University, my Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree from University of Phoenix, and my Associate of Arts Degree from Paradise Valley Community College.

What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?

I love to curl up with a good book and a warm cup of tea. Fiction brings me the most joy, but I enjoy a bit of everything. Two of my recent favorites were “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig, and “Where The Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.  Lately I’ve been catching up on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, which is incredible.

What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?

Dark chocolate with almonds, iced tea, pickles, essential oils, cozy blankets, fuzzy socks, plants, gardening, photography, walks in nature, good music, and cuddling with pets.

What are your favorite snacks?

I love dark chocolate, and salty/spicy/vinegary snacks of all kinds. I love fresh fruit, nuts, and of course almond joys. My go-to snack is always homemade chips and salsa!

What do you do to unwind?

I spend time with my husband and our furr babies. I love going on long walks through nature to clear my mind. Being outside brings me peace. I enjoy creating  art, traveling, cooking, listening to good music, taking photographs, gardening, and spending time with those I love.
