Meet Miss Grace

Miss Whitney Grace grew up in a small town in Indiana, where she also attended Bethel College. She visited her best friend in Fort Collins in 2015.

“I thought that it was pretty amazing and that I would love to move here,” says Grace. “Ridgeview had a phone interview with me and then asked me to come in! So I packed my bags and moved for a mock teach!” laughs Grace.

“I just really wanted to work here!”

Grace was hired to teach third grade. This will be her fifth year at Ridgeview. She originally wanted to be an engineer. “I was pretty close to finishing my degree, but I had an internship that I didn’t like at all,” says Grace. “So I thought about what else I was passionate about and it was definitely teaching young children.”

Grace has an undergraduate degree in Education with Math and Science backgrounds, however she loves to teach about ancient civilizations the most.

When asked to describe Ridgeview, Grace says “The close community is amazing. People are willing to help whenever needed.”

Outside of teaching, Grace enjoys the outdoors. “I love to backpack. The harder the better.” She has been a chaperone on several Outdoor Program trips, and has been able to witness how it has evolved. She loves to bake, cook for her friends and read a lot of books. She also is very skilled at hand stands.

Grace is our newest Athletics Director, which is fitting seeing as she was a college track athlete. “My predecessor Brody McDonald did a good job at making it a program that people took seriously, which I thought was really cool.”

“I also was a track athlete in a small town with a small community, so I can relate to the environment here. I think there are a lot of great character lessons to be learned through sports, so I took the job on.”

Grace is an energetic and passionate person, who definitely brings all that energy to the classroom environment.

“The best thing about Ridgeview to me are the people. I love the parents, students and my colleagues. Everyone is a top notch human being. Even on the bad days, the students make it better.”
