Mrs. Corneliusen

Where are you from and where have you lived?

I was originally born in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois but moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado when I was fairly young. I lived in Greeley for college before moving to the Fort Collins area.

Where did you attend college or university?

I studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of Northern Colorado.

What kind of reading do you enjoy most?

In my free time, I enjoy reading Christian Living books as well as a variety of fiction books.

What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?

Lamp lighting and candles, sunsets, and Christmas music. Quality time with family is also a necessity!

What are your favorite snacks?

BBQ Chips and Gluten-Free Oreos are my favorite!

What do you do to unwind?

I enjoy reading or bullet journaling to relax after a long day.

How could a parent volunteer help you the most?

Supporting our students in reading groups! This is a great opportunity to work together in engaging students in a small-group setting with a text to practice reading and discussing their thoughts and questions with one another.

Why have you chosen to teach at Ridgeview specifically?

I chose to teach at Ridgeview because I value the emphasis they put on educating the whole child – I believe that teachers at Ridgeview have the privilege to work alongside parents in developing a student’s physical, emotional, and academic well-being.
